The Little Ones
On a cold chill day in December when hair is askew and noses are red, on days better spent at home lying in bed, the things that make you smile a little brighter are the littlest ones of all.
It was just such a day when Lesley Collin was driving home from a dreary day in her collage math class. Nothing had gone right not since the beginning of the year, but todays chance of flurries and bitter chill were not making her feel any better.
What had suddenly made her life so dreary and unlikable was still a mystery. She tried to look on the bright side, she tried to smile, but it was ever so hard, was this a medical case of depression? She refused to think such a thing, just because she was lost now didn’t mean she always would be, right?
The things she found that bothered her most was her lack of belief, not just the simple things in life but when your not sure you believe in God thats far more serious. Not believing in his existence but rather in his nature, the times when your mind seems to get the better of you.
However on a cold chill day in December when hair is askew and noses are red, a chance of flurries hangs over our heads, on days better spent at home lying in bed,
He still see’s fit to send little golden flowers our way, just to brighten our day.
I can empathize Lesley Collins. There was a point this year when I really struggled with believing that God is good.
ReplyDelete"Come closer, closer to me.
Find me broken, find me bleedin'
cause I need more now than a fairy tale,
a god who lives in a book.
I need someone real.
Come closer, closer to me.
Find me broken, find me on my knees,
cause I need more now than philosophy.
Some god in outer space doesn't mean anything to me."
Great song!
