Completion

So that blue tunisian crochet cowl neck scarf I was working on? Ya that on. It's finished!
I've had this small ball of blue yarn roiling around forever and I finally got to use it!

First I chaned about 30 stiches wide.
Then I tunisian crocheted until I was almost out of yarn.
Next I twisted it 2 times and stiched the two sides together.

Which gave me this.

Final Product, I'm pretty proud of it, slips right over my head and it's super comfy!

No name in life

The stars were singing
As the man was dreaming
Of the silence screaming
In the blackness of deaths breathing

His life is burning down
As the ashes fall around
And he begins to drown
In this life he is bound
By this pain he has found

Sonbirds

So I love animals, not like a tree hugger, planet lover, get rid of all the people, i'm a vegetarian type, I just like having pets around the house. I've had two cats, about ten fish, a lizard and a cockatiel (the last two only for a day or so). But i've always wanted a pet songbirds, I lived in the mountains of Brasil for about a month and the family I stayed with had five or so and a lovelier sound I've never since woken to.

Tatt a tatt tatt

So I've been looking at tatting patterns and tatting shuttles this evening and I found myself sighing at the thought of all the beautiful hand made shuttles I was seeing. I need more I thought, I can make one I thought, but what would I make it of. Wire was final conclusion and here is the product of that conclusion I'm fairly proud of my 5 min hand made shuttle.

It even has a little hook on the end

I also found some old practice scraps

Wonders

So I found this random thing of thick nasty yellow yarn at a thrift shop for a quarter and I fell in love! I had to have it, so I dug deep in my purse found a lonely quarter and traded it for that hideously perfect yarn. I haven't decided what i'll do with it yet, but it'll be lovely.

Current Projects of Note

I would describe myself as a multitasker who was never meant to be. In other words I start about 8 projects and take forever to finish them.
Currently i’m working on a set of navy blue tatted jewelry being mostly experimental and practice

A knitted poncho in Forest Green

A Tunisian crochet cowl neck scarf

a vintage lace hat

a crochet yellow something [which i can’t tell you about yet because it will be a christmas present]
Along with some others, i'll keep it updated. If anyone ever wants patterns just ask. Currently listening to Jason Upton and working on math homework so i'll update this later.

Quick Reflection on the Psalms

In Psalms 10 David is crying out to the Lord. “1 Why do You stand afar off, O LORD? Why do You hide in times of trouble? 2 The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.” It’s not really that the Lord has left, or gone far away, leaving man to do as he wishes. But rather, even He must wait for the fullness of time. What a man sows he reaps, even the cities of sodom and gamora were spared for a time. When we see things that shouldn’t be going on around us and we ask God why, the answer is often because he’s merciful, think where you'd be if He wasn't.  Just some thoughts.

The Sun is Rising

So randomly woke up at five o'clock this morning, not a bad thing in my opinion. At any rate, I decided to go watch the sun come up as I was walking down the beach a strange sight met my eyes. There was a strange unidentifiable lump of something lying in the sand ahead of me, I couldn't tell what it was for the distance but I sincerely hoped it wasn't dead and smelly. If you've ever lived buy the ocean you know it happens a lot. At any rate, when I was about five yards away I saw a little head pop and a precious little face starred out at me, it then proceed to lop back to the water, for it was a seal and as you may know lopping is what seals do, rather quickly I might add.

Introductions are in order

Introductions are very important as they will allow you to understand me somewhat better than you otherwise would. Mind you, I'm writing this blog for myself, with others in mind. I haven't the faintest idea that anyone else will ever read the things I discuss here, but that my friends is perfectly alright with me.
I'm 18 in college and living at home, most of my friends have gone off to college and as i'm currently out of a job this gives me extra time. I've grown up in the church and I wouldn't have it any other way, the people and the word have enriched my life in more ways than I could ever name and I'm so thankful.
I love reading and writing (novels mostly, some poetry), I also love sewing( preferably by hand) knitting tatting and all other such wonderful things. Costumes are my favorite to sew, I find modern patterns absolutely deplorable, I would much rather make my own design and figure it out as I go along.
I also love music, I play the guitar well, thou not epicly. From the lyrics to the physics of sound, I love it all.
In this blog I'll primarily be sharing my projects with you, as well as my thought on different topics. And whatever else important comes up.
If you were wondering about the title, Laputa is the floating planet of absurd philosophers from Gulliver's travels. So this blog is absurd philosophical rambling, thing to do with music and lace.
