The Smugglers Cave

Today while riding home from church I realized today was a day for an adventure! So when I got home I bundled all up and I aired my bike tires and I took off to a place I wasn't sure of yet.

In the Magicians Nephew by Clive Staples Lewis a small tunnel is mentioned where Polly had stashed "a cash-box containing various treasures, and a story she was writing, and usually a few apples. She had often drunk a quiet bottle of ginger-beer in there: and the old bottles made it look more like a smuggler's cave." So today as I was exploring un-charted territories (well I at least have never charted them) I found a Brandy Bottle, and then a beer bottle and then a wine bottle and a very old light bulb.

After traveling through the kingdom of squoosh I came to a small alcove that seemed to me a perfect place to settle so I did.

Mithril lace

So that bit of tatting from the library well I finished it, and it is making it's grand entrance. I like it  a lot, as a friend said it's very elfish and the colour of mithril. Hope you like it!
Here's a little closer look

Preparation for mental torment

Eisley needle tatting and a half eaten barrito in the library during a thunderous tumultuous downpour . This is proof of preparation for my 3 hours of mental torment in the study of the brain. 3 hour psychology night class's are always interesting.

My favorite tatting yet

This is by far my favorite tatted bracelet. It is laid out on the saucer of my favorite tea cup, I think they compliment each other nicely.

Lace lace lace loverly loverly lace

I found this beautiful tatted lace in a deceptively large but wonderfully interesting antique store on second street this afternoon while on a unplanned boutique hunting escapade. It was a good successful trip. I think this'll go on the bottom edge of a dress or at least a shirt.

Pearls

This pearl tatted bracelet ended up being to long for it's original purpose, so what am I going to do with it? I'm going to make it a little longer and it shall be a beautiful chocker! But not right now, now it is time to go shopping.

Finally Finished

So I know I started that mask on Christmas and I FINALLY FINISHED it, but it  really didn't take that long, I was just ignoring it for a while. So here is the almost finished version, it's drying now, but I'll post a picture of it on me after I've made the ties.

Breakfast and to do lists

So this morning we had snow and thats normally when you sleep in right or at least relax. But No! 5:30 this morning the school called me to tell me that they're closed do to bad weather, 15 min later they text me, 10 min later my old phone which wasn't suppose to even be on goes off. Then of course at 6 my alarm goes off so I got up and found that I was surprisingly hungry. So what did I do? I made breakfast! Lavender and Vanilla batter on Angel Food Cake deliciously combined to make some delicious French Toast.

So I REALLY REALLY REALLY, want to work on some sewing projects but my sewing machine is being silly, so I have to fix it first. Not hard but not fun either. I'm debating about curling my hair I have Sociology and Psychology class this afternoon and I'm very much looking forward to it.

Also I've almost completed my first tatted mask, I'm fairly exited about that, and can't wait to start my next project.
I really want to open an Etsy shop as well but I can't do that until I have a credit card and I can't get one until I am financially stable, so I'm praying Wallgreens will give me a job.

Warm Little Toes

So I told you i've been working on socks well here is day two's work. They have about 20 in. to go before they're finished, well this one at least,  I'm proud of myself, as I had no pattern to work off of. They're made of wool so, they may help protect my feet from the chilly monsters that prowl about on my floor, they have very sharp teeth.
Also very excited about School, so far I really love all my teachers. Political Science gave me the largest dose of laughter I've had in a while.

New Seasons

It's 2011, school just started back up and I had my first day of sociology, it was good. My DLF (Dear Little Friend) is stopping for a flying visit this coming monday on her way back to school in Boston Mass, I'm praying for good clear weather. Meanwhile I have rediscovered my love of ice skating I hope to do it at least once a month. I'm crocheting some wonderfully worm wool thigh high socks among other things. I opened a new blog completely dedicated to random bits of my life. Also I've been working on the ruff draft of Roses and Rope, (more in my head than actually with paper and pen) I'll keep you posted on that. Early morning tomorrow so good night.

So my oldest brother is leaving for boot camp tomorrow so I'm going to see him today after church, I'm seriously considering moving to China but I very sincerely hope I can wait until August, I really don't want to leave as soon as the end of march, but we shall see.

Also still thinking seriously about opening an etsy store soon, I think I'll call it Resilient Beauty
